¡Bienvenidos a mi clase!

As a Spanish teacher I am obligated to have the most extra classroom in the entire school, and I am proud to say I have fulfilled my duty. Here are some pictures to take a glimpse into our classroom.

Here is the view from my desk. I love when you look out that you can see my reading corner, as well as the papel picado I made by hand this summer. I couldn’t find any papel picado online in the colors I wanted, so I cut my own out of tissue paper! It was truly a labor of love, but I am so proud of how it came out.

I love my desk so much! Pro tip: adding a blanket (or in this case serape) makes any ugly desk cute in a snap! This year I added the pom pom garland, te amo banner, and of course I HAD to buy the dulces Rae Dunn the moment I saw it! I was in love!

I love the front of my room because it has super cute pom poms and twinkly lights. I get compliments from my kids every year about how at home they feel in the classroom because of the atmosphere I have worked so hard to create.

This phrase wall has been so helpful! I implemented one my first year of teaching (which was not this cute) and have improved it every year. I make a quizlet set out of these phrases that we play at the beginning of the year to break the ice and team build, and students know to use them in the class. If they ask something in English that is on the board, I tell respond with the number on the board their desired phrase corresponds to. As the year progresses, I erase each phrase one by one. The first to go is “puedo ir al baño” of course!
